In this guide, we will walk you through how to manually enter a trade from the Options Autotrader platform. This is useful if you want to take advantage of market movements or open new positions quickly. Follow the steps below to get started.
Before manually entering a trade, it’s important to understand the settings and the structure of your trade. For example, in this case, the trade is set up on the ES (E-mini S&P 500) with the following parameters:
90 days until expiration (90DTE)
Delta values: 25, 23, and 7
These parameters define the trade's risk/reward and entry criteria. Review the settings carefully to ensure you are comfortable with them.
You will need to access either the Autotrader page or the Dashboard page to begin the process. From these pages, you can view your pre-configured trades.
Once on the page, locate your desired trade, such as the ES90DTE112 trade. This is the trade configuration you will use for manual entry. Click on the trade to open its details.
In the trade details view, you will see a green button labeled "Place a trade now." This button is available both on the Autotrader and Dashboard pages. Click this button to initiate the trade.
A confirmation message will appear, asking if you want to place the live trade based on the current settings. Review the information and confirm that you are ready to proceed.
Click Enter a live trade to finalize your decision.
Once confirmed, the system will automatically place the trade using the pre-configured settings. This includes applying the selected delta values and expiration details.
You may want to enter a trade during market fluctuations, or if you find that you are running low on open positions. This manual process allows you to quickly enter new trades even when the system isn’t automatically doing so.
If you prefer, you can always enter a trade directly through your broker and then import it into the Options Autotrader platform for further management. However, using the manual entry process ensures that the trade is placed according to your desired strategy immediately.
