Here is a list of the common reasons that your trade didn’t close…
If you don’t see any errors when you are on the dashboard page or haven’t received a recent email about your broker account not being connected, then you are connected and can ignore this reason.
There is an ignore automation setting that can be viewed and changed in the trade details popup. You can find this by going to the Auto Trader page and clicking on the three line icon on the trades table. You want to make sure the Ignore Automation setting is false so that your auto trader will properly manage the trade.
If you are trading a 11X (1-1-1, 1-1-2, or 1-1-2-2) and have the hedge feature enabled, then it will only close the trade once the specific option leg has hit the profit target, not when the overall trade hits the profit target. This is done to make sure that you make enough profit to cover the cost of the hedge that stays on. Always, once the trade is turned into a hedge, then it will stay open until expiration.
When the Options Auto Trader triggers your bot to close and it fails to close 3 times, then we will mark the trade as ignore automation and notify you. Please check your notifications to see if there any steps of action based on the reason why the close execution failed.
A lot of times, the Auto Trader isn’t setup to do and exit how you think it is. Make sure to review the exit settings and ensure that it is set up to execute how you want it to execute. If you have any questions, please message us with an explanation of what you are trying to do and we’ll confirm the settings are correct.
